CLIMBING IS DANGEROUS. Climbing presents a significant inherent risk of serious physical injury, including paralysis, disability or death. When you climb at Edgeworks, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with climbing. Please be careful.
Facility Rules
| WAIVER: |
Anyone using our facility MUST have a signed waiver on file. Anyone under 18 requires the signature of a parent or legal guardian. |
| CHECK-IN: |
Check-in is required at the start of each visit. If you have not checked-in, you do not have permission to use the facility. |
| INSTRUCTION: |
Only Edgeworks staff can provide technical instruction. Peer-to-peer technical instruction is prohibited (such as: tying-in, belaying, lead climbing, etc). |
| YOUTH: |
Youth (under 14) must be actively supervised by an adult at all times. One adult cannot supervise more than 3 youths. No unattended children on the climbing floor. Young children must stay within arm’s reach of a supervising adult. Infants/toddlers are not allowed in fall zones. |
| RESPECT: |
Always be respectful of other climbers. Share ropes and take turns on routes. Closed-toed shoes required while climbing. Shirts must be worn at all times. |
| STAY ALERT: |
Do not walk or climb under other climbers. Keep fall zones clear of people and belongings. Do not allow items to drop from the wall (secure items before climbing). Check for nearby climbers before climbing (yield to those already on the wall). Keep headphone volume low (stay aware of others). |
Fitness
| EQUIPMENT: |
Closed-toe shoes required in weight room and on cardio equipment. Re-rack weights and wipe down equipment after use. |
| CLASSES: |
Always CHECK-IN at the front desk before class. Do not enter classes late. |
| YOGA STUDIO: |
Remove shoes before entering. Put away mats and equipment when done. |
| YOUTH: | Must be 14 years or older to use weight room/equipment. |
Bouldering
| FALLING: |
Keep personal belongings, like water bottles, phones, and keys, off the padded floors. Always identify landings before returning to the ground. When able, use holds to down climb before falling. |
| TOPPING OUT: |
Exit via designated down climb; do not jump from the top. Do not assist other climbers topping out. |
| BOULDERING HEIGHT LIMIT: | Stay below “Bouldering Height Limit” signs in roped climbing areas. |
| TRAVERSING: |
Do not traverse/boulder in Rope Climbing Only areas. Yield to other climbers on the wall when traversing. |
Top Rope and Lead Climbing
| REQUIREMENTS: |
Belayers and lead climbers must have a current Edgeworks belay or lead certification. |
| ANCHOR USE: |
Down climbing lead routes is prohibited. Top roping on lead anchors is prohibited. |
| YOUTH: |
Belayers and lead climbers must be 14 years or older. |
TOP ROPE BELAY AND LEAD TEST REQUIREMENTS:
All belayers or lead climbers must have a current certification.
