T-Town Throwdown

THE 7th ANNUAL T-TOWN THROWDOWN

Edgeworks is hosting the marvelously merciless 7th Annual T-Town Throwdown on April 30th, 2011. Slip on your favorite boots and sign up for one of the largest climbing competitions in the Northwest. Glory and gear await!

In case you didn't know (or totally forgot), the T-Town Throwdown is part of the Sport Climbing Series (SCS) and is sanctioned by USA Climbing. Already, this year's comp is promising to be another memory-maker. The routes are stellar, the prizes are amazing and, of course, the climbers are awesome!

If you're not tying in, come watch! You'll have a blast supporting local climbers. And don't forget, you might win something too!

THE DETAILS

This year the T-Town Throwdown is a Redpoint competition featuring lead and top-rope routes. There are three sessions: one for the ladies, another for the gents and a third Speed Climbing session. Within these categories further divisions are made for youth, adults and masters. USAC members pay a mere $40.00 for entrance and a T-Shirt. The pre-registration deadline is April 20th. No T-Shirt registration after the deadline. Check out the comp poster here (.pdf).

Edgeworks is closed to open climbing during the competition.

C'MON CRUSH THIS!

For new and experienced climbers alike, a quick reminder to focus on precise footwork is always worthwhile tip. "Focus on watching your foot all the way to the hold," explains Jon Manz. "A lot of people see a hold and before they've placed their feet, they're already looking at the next move." Is that you?

Watch your foot on each and every hold! That means more than seeing it. Follow your foot to the best position on the hold and watch until you're applying pressure. That, ladies and gents, is precise footwork. Go to it!
